Mayor Margo G. Bailey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In attendance were Councilmembers Harrison C. Bristoll, Jr., W. Whaland Clark, Mabel Mumford-Pautz and J. Brian Kirby, Medford C. Capel, Utilities Manager, Joan Merryman, Stenographer, and guests.

Mayor Bailey asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes of the meeting of February 20, 2001. Mr. Bristoll moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as presented, was seconded by Mrs. Mumford-Pautz and carried unanimously.

Mayor Bailey stated that the Utilities Commission has cash on hand and in banks on March 26, 2001 of $471,654.89.

Mayor Bailey called on Mr. Capel for his report. Mr. Capel said we had advertised for bids on the one generator. Mayor Bailey read the ad for the bids for a diesel fueled generator set which are due at noon on Thursday, April 12, 2001.

Mr. Capel stated that we have to do a Consumer Confidence Report once a year for the preceding year. He distributed copies to the Council and said it will be published in the Kent County News and will be on the internet.

Mayor Bailey asked if there were any questions. There being none, she asked the Council to review the bills. Mr. Clark moved that the bills be paid as presented, was seconded by Mrs. Mumford-Pautz and carried unanimously.
